Important: A Spark for the Square & Civic Engagement
A two-fold update on grants approved to support downtown businesses and three reminders as you head to the polls.
Good Morning —
Two quick updates for you before we launch into the weekend!
Hard Hat Resiliency Grant Launch: Supporting Downtown Businesses
At yesterday’s Downtown District Committee meeting, I announced the creation of the “Hard Hat Resiliency Grant” alongside Mayor Chris Jensen and the other members of the Downtown District Committee. This is the City’s effort to support downtown businesses impacted by INDOT’s State Road 32 construction project.
Together, we’ve allocated $35,500 for more than 60 grants to provide timely funding to offset costs and keep the heart of our city vibrant throughout the State’s infrastructure work. This grant will help businesses get creative in reaching customers in the weeks ahead.
If you’re a downtown business, look for the application launch early next week.
If you’re a Noblesville resident, find a way this weekend to support a downtown business.
If you’re someone who loves to visit Noblesville, we hope you’ll come downtown to lend support too. We’re open for business!
Three Things to Know About Election Day
In Noblesville, we have contested gubernatorial, congressional, state representative, county offices, and convention delegates all on the ballot. Some of these will be close races and your vote matters!
As you head to the polls, here are three important actions I urge you to take:
#1: If you live in Noblesville, consider voting for Aaron Smith as one of your selections for Convention Delegate.
If you reside in Noblesville and plan to pull a Republican ballot, I’d encourage you to vote for delegates who will represent our city's interests at the Republican Convention. As a candidate for delegate, I am committed to advocating for Noblesville’s values — and you’ve seen my track record to know what’s important to me!
In Noblesville, we have 67 people running for 10 spots at the convention.
The convention is where the party will choose the platform and select the nominees for Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor.
The ten people you choose are important — let me know if you have any further questions!
#2: Encourage 5 friends to vote.
I’d ask that you forward this email to at least five friends or family members who are eligible to vote in the upcoming May election. Encourage them to visit indianavoters.in.gov to learn about the candidates and find their polling locations.
#3: Know Your Candidates.
Regardless of where you live in Indiana, take the time to familiarize yourself with the candidates running for various offices. Visit indianavoters.in.gov to access information about who is on your ballot.
Thank you for your commitment to civic engagement and for being an active participant in the process to elect our community’s leaders. If you have any questions on voting or the candidates running, send me an email at aaronwsmith51@gmail.com — I’m happy to help!
Best,
Aaron Smith
