I'm In.
Earlier today, I filed the paperwork necessary to launch my campaign for Noblesville on the City Council.
Since you elected me in 2019, I’ve worked consistently to deliver on the promises I made to you in that campaign. A few highlights of note:
Added protections for downtown buildings: The protections passed Plan Commission, Common Council, and were signed into law by the Mayor.
Secured funding for Old Town infrastructure: Together with other Council members, I secured funding in the budget for sidewalk repairs in Old Town ($250k in 2021 and $300k in 2022) and much-needed brick rehabilitation on Logan & Clinton Streets.
Maintained a consistent property tax rate: The Council has held the City’s property tax rate flat for the last four years at $1.10 per $100 of assessed value.
Ensured healthy rainy day fund reserves: While the State of Indiana recommends that cities target 12% of annual revenue for cash reserves, the Council and Administration have increased that to a minimum of 15% for the City of Noblesville.
In this campaign, I recommit those promises I made to you. Downtown Noblesville will always be my priority, we must take active (and difficult) steps to address our city’s aging infrastructure, strategically invest in our future, and in all conversations put taxpayers first.
If you'd like to support our campaign, here's how you can best help:
Follow: If you haven't already, like the campaign on Facebook, follow on Twitter and on Instagram.
Like: Give a 👍 and ❤️ content we post on social media (like the video we launched this morning below on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!). These companies base the posts they show on the number of people who have interacted with them. Even if you don’t live around Noblesville, liking our posts will help others in the district see them. This will be a huge lift!
Jump in: Help us out as we reach people in Noblesville! Whether you'd like to go door-to-door with me, or you’re one who’d rather help behind the scenes, I'll take it! Indicate how you’d like to lend a hand here: https://www.aaronsmith.org/get-involved
Donate: Since we informally launched at the end of the year, so many of you have already shown your support financially. If you're able to donate, you can do so here. Your support here will help us reach more people in Noblesville!
I'm excited for the campaign ahead (I have another pair of shoes ready to burn through going door-to-door!) and hope to see you along the way.
